…and that’s the one-phrase refrain that had me in tears during worship at church one night.
It was very weird to me because I’m generally not very outwardly emotional. I’ve been called ‘cold and heartless’ (when not crying during books/movies) on more than one occasion. But after hearing about another mother that had passed away earlier in the day after a long and painful, yet very faithful battle with cancer…those two words were all it took for the floodgates to open.
The worship at our church is often moving–proving time and time again to be powerful and meaningful; and that thrown in with knowing this mother left behind two young daughters and a husband…singing the words “I’m alive I’m alive I’m alive I’m alive” hit me like a Mack truck. Oh, and this also happened to be the finale in a sermon series on family. *sigh*
When was the last time you realized how blessed you are just to be alive?
